Kalli Minor She Plays We Win

"Tennis a great sport, and it teaches you self confidence and helps you grow as a person, because your'e out there by your self for every point and when your'e playing you have to be your coach, cheerleader and motivator."
Kalli Minor, 9, Tennis

How old are you & what sports do you play?
I am 10yrs old, I play tennis!

What has tennis taught you that you think you'll use later in life?
Tennis is all I know and everyday on the court is a life lesson, I've learned that there are no bad days there may be a bad minute or a bad hour, but constant effort and a good mind set can change everything.

How do you feel when you accomplish something you never have before on the tennis court?
When I accomplish something I've never done before I feel like I'm getting better, and when I shock my self it's a great feeling.

What advice would you give to your 5-year-old self?
I would tell 5 year Kalli to keep asking dad to take you to tennis practice lol, when I was 5 I asked my dad if I could play tennis, and he asked me why? And I said, because I saw this brown girl on TV who was really good! Later on I found out that brown girl was Serena Williams, but he didn't take me, and one day when I was 6 I said "dad you know you never took me to tennis" and then he finally took me and I've been playing ever since.

What are the top 3 things you have to be to succeed in your sport?
In tennis to be successful you need to be mentally tuff! That's important like Dj Khalid says that's major key! At some point everybody can hit, but at the end of the day it comes down to who wants it more, and nobody wants it like I do!

Anything else you want to tell us about tennis?
Tennis is a great sport, and it teaches you self confidence and helps you grow as a person, because your'e out there by your self for every point and when your playing you have to be your coach, cheerleader and motivator

What's the latest thing you've accomplished?
The latest thing I've accomplished is that I learn not to cry when I lose but instead learn from my losses and continue on my goal which is to be the best in the world.

What are your goals for this summer?
My goals for the summer are to get better physically and mentally and to be better everyday than the day before.

Tell us more about what's happening this summer, give us the details!
We want to tell the world!
This summer, I'm just doing a lot of training and conditioning, and I will be attending the U.S. Open as Serena tries to make history, I've been invited to attend the event from Serena and Venus in New York this August, so I'm really looking forward to that and seem them both in New York.
